The cloudBuy cloud platform has been delivering ecommerce and analytics services to the public sector for over a decade. cloudBuy is looking for enthusiastic and experienced developers to join our team, based in Aldermaston on the border between Berkshire and Hampshire.
The company anticipates substantial growth over the coming months and is seeking to recruit a senior developer who will enable the team to accommodate this growth and to accelerate our ongoing commitment to improving functionality and user experience.
Our platform is predominantly MS with SQL Server and ASP.NET. We are starting to target netstandard2.0 with a long term view to migrating to .NET Core. We have a modernisation programme around EntityFramework, MVC, jQuery, Bootstrap, and Telerik KendoUI which you will help to specify and roll out.
You will work with the lead architect to set the technical strategy and direction, and help develop proof of concept and demonstrate feasibility. For example: we are starting to leverage other technologies within our platform including MongoDB, ElasticSearch, VueJS, and ReactJS.
We need to understand the opportunities that technologies new to us have for improving our clients' experience of our platform, and develop strategies and plans for delivery.
Your experience as a developer will inform the patterns and practices we adopt which you will then roll out across the development team.
Legacy systems are a fact of life; you will need to muck in with these. Forensic and analytical skills will be important in reverse-engineering requirements from undocumented systems by investigating the code.
You will work with the development manager you will help developers to understand requirements, and how to approach delivering them in a way compatible with the architectural direction and wider strategies for improvement. You will help developers manage and prioritise their workloads.
You will work with the infrastructure manager to help keep our cloud platform secure, reliable, and free from unnecessary complexity. You will help developers to understand and implement best practice in their use of the infrastructure, and will help the infrastructure team to understand developers' requirements -- for example around testing and deployment.
You will work with the quality manager to enable the QA team to take control of release cycles, and to roll out client-facing improvements across our platform in a reliable and orderly fashion.
cloudBuy will provide the successful candidate with a competitive salary, based on experience, and access to a pension scheme (NEST). There will also be a chance for the candidate to access share and/or option schemes because cloudBuy is a publicly listed company. There will be an opportunity to negotiate flexible working hours.
cloudBuy plc is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all suitably qualified and experienced candidates irrespective of race, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation or disability.
